Germany: PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in Terahertz and Millimeter-wave Imaging

Job description: Terahertz and millimeter-wave imaging systems have received much attention in research and society. Terahertz and millimeter-wave imaging is a cross-field research field including electromagnetic wave propagation, circuit design and techniques, radar techniques, imaging and sensing techniques, and image and signal processing. The group Terahertz Photonik (Prof. Krozer) at Institute of Physics of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main is among the leading groups in this exciting field and wishes to expand its activities in this research area.

Institute of Physics of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main announces 2 Positions on the level Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in (EG 13 TV-G-U) to be installed as soon possible. The selection procedure will continue until the positions are filled.

These positions are to strengthen the group’s activities in this area. The activities include research and cooperation in the frame of national and international research projects. The research tasks to be pursued by a successful candidate should cover at least one of the following areas:

• Design methodologies of MMIC at millimeter-wave and frequencies involving electromagnetic co-simulation
• Radar techniques for object tracking and imaging
• Imaging systems architectures and algorithm development implementation
• Imaging algorithms and image processing techniques for radar imaging systems
• Advanced technologies for imaging radar systems including calibration and processing techniques
• Planar integrated Terahertz Monolithic Integrated Circuits
• Device modeling and characterization techniques suitable for terahertz frequencies

Applicants are requested to indicate whether they apply for the position as Ph.D or PostDoc.

Applications, which should be submitted in English, must include copies of diplomas, a list of at least 2 references, and eventually a list of publications. Applicants who apply for should indicate their works, viewed as scientific highlights.

Further information may be obtained from Prof. Viktor Krozer, email: krozer@physik.uni-frankfurt.de.

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, race, religion or ethnic background are requested to apply.

The applications should be addressed to Prof. Dr. Viktor Krozer, Physikalisches Institut, JWG-Universität, Max-von-Laue-Str. 1, D-60438 Frankfurt (E-Mail: krozer@physik.uni-frankfurt.de).
